“If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth” – Mark 9:23 KJVA”

FEW months ago, Chance the Rapper took to social media to plea for his fans to help his aunt who was dying of kidney failure: “I really need help…she is in dire need of a kidney…We have exhausted all options and have been wait listed for years. My family believes in the power of prayer and we give problems to God. Prayer really goes a long way…”

No sooner had he put the message out – fans flooded him with tweets – hoping to be compatible with his aunt’s blood type. But notice that he said that his family believe in the “power of prayer.” In fact, the Bible says that “whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours” – that’s how powerful prayer is! As long as you ask and believe that you’ve received it – you indeed will get it (Mark 11:24 ESV).

But however easy that sounds – for most Christians – half the battle is in actually believing. There’s a constant war that as humans we face – internally with believing in what we have asked for to come to pass, and then trusting in the process to wait for God’s timing. In the Book of Mark, there was a man whose son was paralysed and when he came to ask Jesus to heal him, he cried out, “I do believe; help my unbelief!” So he was stuck between the two but Jesus says “If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth” (Mark 9:23 KJV).

Therefore, this week as you stand in your closet to pray – believe that nothing is impossible and that you’ll receive an answer because there is power behind prayer. All you have to do is believe!
